Something curious and somewhat fascinating is happening in the Soave area. Almost every year a new production reality comes out, generally small companies that have very few hectares of vineyard and produce a very small number of bottles they look with interest towards the boundaries of sustainability and the natural. One of these is the Martinelli winery located in Fitta Soave, in the province of Verona, in the Classica del Soave area. One and a half hectares of garganega vines with an average age of 50 years, which was bought twenty-five years ago by Dario Martinelli, and which now that he retired he thought it was time to start making wine. So helped by his son Francesco Martinelli, the agronomist Antonio Zappoli and the vignerons Stefano Menti, he threw himself into this new adventure. The first vintage in the bottle was 2017 with two very well made and pleasant wines: the Soave Doc "Il Gigante" and the "Leviatano", a pet nat fermented in the bottle, with clean and fruity aromas, very savory. 2700 bottles produced for the Soave and 500 for the pert nat.
